Why do you use alcohol? Isn't that bad for me?
Most commercial perfumes use harsh alcohols derived from petroleum or wheat, which are then denatured with diethyl phthalate (a potent hormone disruptor), which is where the real problem with alcohol-based perfume lies. The alcohol we use is a wine-grade organic grape ethanol, and is not toxic to your skin. Natural ethanol is not bad for you in the small amounts used in perfume, contrary to what you might have heard. Yes, alcohol will dry out your skin if you are using it in a large area for a prolonged period of time. However, the amount of alcohol that sits against your skin from a few sprays of perfume is minimal and will not cause dryness or irritation in most people.
