A Weekend in Melbourne

I am so blessed to live in Australia; they don’t call it the lucky country for nothing! From the beautiful beaches of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland to the wine trails of Margaret River in the West, there is just so much pleasure to be found in my beautiful homeland.

Last weekend, I was lucky enough to spend a solitary few days in Melbourne, one of my favorite cities. And, as always, Melbourne never disappoints. I spent many hours on foot, on trams, in cafes, restaurants, boutiques, galleries, museums, side alleys, and I always find something new and surprising. Melbourne is a mecca for anyone who loves shopping, history, architecture or art. Or food. Or coffee.

Melbourne Exhibition Centre. The architecture is incredible!

This weekend, I spent most of my time around the northern side of the city, around Carlton and Fitzroy. Full of life and vibrancy, this area is home to many independent designers of fashion, homewares, shoes, art and more, as well as the most gorgeous quirky cafes and bars.

I had a perfect soy cappuccino and apple-and-walnut muffin for breakfast one morning, pondering the life of an entrepreneur. As I people-watched and pondered, I realised my life is blessed. From living in the best country in the world (okay, I might be biased!), to working in a creative field as a perfumer, and having the most beautiful family I could hope for, I am truly blessed.

And, as always, I have returned to my desk refreshed and re-inspired. Thanks Melbourne. See you again soon…
